How ViBE Began

Community leaders who recognized a serious problem — and chose to act.

JTM has expanded to include a C.A.R.E. Team comprised of 16 community leaders in Nairobi, Kenya — specifically in the Kibera slums and Embakasi East (Tassia and Soweto).

These leaders recognized that they had a serious problem and wanted to learn how they could help. They reached out, they trained, and they built something powerful from within their own community.

These men and women are now fully trained advocates for human trafficking, domestic violence, and sexual assault. They have created a program called Vision Beyond Eyes (ViBE) — bringing the movement's mission to an international stage.

Advocacy Focus Areas

Trained to Respond to Three Critical Issues

Human Trafficking

Recognizing the signs, understanding the systems, and connecting victims to safety and support.

Domestic Violence

Providing trauma-informed advocacy and resources to survivors of domestic violence within the community.

Sexual Assault

Supporting survivors with compassionate, community-based advocacy and pathways to healing.

Part of the Movement

ViBE is proof that the movement is global.

Human trafficking doesn't stop at borders — and neither does Join The Movement. ViBE connects the work happening in Walworth County, Wisconsin to communities in Nairobi, Kenya, united by the same mission: awareness, prevention, and advocacy for every person.
